Believe it or not - you are rare!

To a large degree, the suppliers of wedding services are bemoaning the drop in bookings. Some companies are facing drops of up to 50% for the year ahead. That's not to say that they are bad at what they do or this fall has to do with their capabilities. No! It's more likely to stem from the fear of the cost of a wedding; the spiralling increases from year to year. A decade ago, National Statistics placed the cost of a wedding in the UK at around £10,000.00. Even in 1998, that was still a great deal of money. Now, that figure has more than doubled to a staggering £20,000.00. Rather than have the effect of doubling wedding business profits, these inflations have scared couples away from planning a wedding that they cannot justify or afford.

But this is an opportunity for you to negotiate terms. And for those who understand Supply and Demand, the rarer you are in any market, the more power you have to determine the cost.

During the 25 years between 1980 - 2005, wedding planning and the number of weddings boomed. It hit all-time records, and people like me, wrote editorial to encourage early booking so that brides alike would not have to be disappointed. This bouyant market was able to charge higher than ever prices, and as soon as you mentioned the 'W' word, the price often went higher still.

We are about to re-write the script. Are you willing to try it?
